The Brighton Half Marathon, first run in 1991, was originally organised by local running clubs. Now organised
by the local charity Sussex Beacon, it has grown from the original 200 runners to the current 15,000 participants.
Brighton Half Marathon Route
The race follows an undulating, coastal route.
The course starts at Hove Lawns on Kingsway, heading towards Brighton Pier and Brighton Marina.
Runners briefly head north before the Brighton Pavillion before turning back to the coast. The route
then continues east until runners are sent westward towards Hove. At the Hove Lagoon runners make their last
turn and head east to the finish line on the promenade, close to start line.
